Private Villa in Tuscany: Personal Assistance and Local Knowledge Throughout Your Stay
The privacy of a villa entirely to yourself, with the reassurance of having the owner nearby whenever you need assistance, local advice, or a personal recommendation.
Villa Le Ginepraie is a private villa in Tuscany near Volterra, between Volterra and San Gimignano, rented exclusively to one group at a time. The villa, large private garden, and infinity pool are entirely for our guests, with no shared spaces.
When you choose a private villa in Tuscany, you are usually looking for freedom: a home of your own, plenty of space for family and friends, a private pool, and the opportunity to experience Tuscany at your own pace.
At Villa Le Ginepraie, there is something else that can make a real difference during your vacation: the discreet presence of the owner, who lives nearby and personally knows both the villa and the surrounding area.
My name is Valerio, and I am the owner of Villa Le Ginepraie. I do not live on the property and I do not share any spaces with my guests, but I am personally available during their stay whenever they need help or advice.
This is not a concierge service, nor does it mean having someone constantly around. It simply means having the reassurance of knowing that, when you need something, there is someone nearby who knows the house and the area.
Some guests hardly see me during their entire vacation. Others contact me for a recommendation, to arrange an experience, or for practical help.
It is entirely up to you.
Privacy When You Want It. Help When You Need It.

Villa Le Ginepraie is a private villa in Tuscany for 12 people, with six bedrooms, six bathrooms, spacious indoor and outdoor areas, and a private infinity pool surrounded by the Tuscan countryside.
It is a home designed to be enjoyed independently.
But even the best-planned vacation can bring something unexpected.
Over the years, for example, I have helped guests find a local doctor when someone was feeling unwell. On another occasion, I contacted a local mechanic when a guest had a problem with their car.
More often, the requests are much simpler: finding a pharmacy, locating a particular shop, knowing where to buy something locally, or solving a small issue at the villa.
The advantage is knowing that there is someone nearby who knows the property, knows the area, and can help you find the right solution.
For international guests in particular, this can provide extra peace of mind when visiting this part of Tuscany for the first time.
One of our guests described this balance particularly well:
“Valerio was a great host. He gave us excellent recommendations and helped us whenever we needed anything. Even though he stays near the property, we never saw him.”
— Murray, Airbnb guest, August 2026 — 5 stars
That is exactly the experience I want to offer: your own private villa in Tuscany, with someone nearby when you need help and complete privacy when you don’t.
Valerio’s Tips: Local Knowledge From Someone Who Lives Here
Personal assistance is only part of the experience.
One of my favorite aspects of welcoming guests to Villa Le Ginepraie is helping them discover the area where I live.
Valerio’s Tips is the name we give to the personal recommendations I share with guests, based on my direct knowledge and experience of this part of Tuscany.
Of course, I can recommend what to see in Volterra and San Gimignano, as well as restaurants, wineries, local producers, shops, markets, walks, and activities in the surrounding area.
But some of the most interesting conversations begin with a much simpler question:
“Valerio, where would you go?”
Sometimes guests tell me they have already read the guidebooks and done plenty of research online. They already know about Tuscany’s famous towns and landmarks.
What they are looking for is something different: somewhere quiet, a small local restaurant, an unusual walk, or simply a place they probably would never have discovered on their own.
This is where firsthand local knowledge can make a real difference.
One of our guests mentioned in his review something I have been preparing for visitors to Le Ginepraie for some time: a detailed guide with information and recommendations to help them plan their days.
“One of the thoughtful touches was the detailed guide Valerio had prepared. It was full of recommendations and made planning our days much easier.”
— Gary, Ohio, USA, Airbnb guest, June 2026 — 5 stars
But a guide can only take you so far.
Sometimes the best recommendation simply comes from a conversation.
A Side of Tuscany You Won’t Always Find in the Guidebooks

There are places around us that I deliberately prefer not to identify precisely on the website.
Not because they need to be treated as “secret places,” but because part of their beauty comes from the fact that they have remained quiet and relatively unknown.
There is, for example, a natural spring where water emerges directly from the ground, forming a small pool of crystal-clear water known mainly by people from the area.
There are unusual natural pools fed by genuine thermal water that many visitors — and even some local residents — do not know about. Even during busy periods in Tuscany, you can sometimes reach places like these and encounter very few people.
There are small, family-run restaurants, simple and authentic, where the experience can feel more like having lunch in someone’s home than eating at a restaurant on a typical tourist itinerary.
There are lesser-known walks near Volterra that cross the countryside and lead toward ancient abandoned villages and forgotten settlements, places that rarely appear in traditional travel guides.
And not far from Villa Le Ginepraie, there is even a small natural canyon that most visitors to this part of Tuscany would probably never know existed without a suggestion from someone who lives here.
I don’t want to turn these places into tourist attractions.
When I think they are suitable for my guests, I am happy to share some of them personally, along with practical information about visiting them. Conditions and access to natural places can change, so recommendations are always made according to the circumstances at the time.
And sometimes I make one small request: enjoy the place, respect it, and think twice before sharing its exact location online.
Sometimes preserving the quiet character of a place is part of preserving what makes it special.
Not Another List of “Hidden Gems in Tuscany”
Every guest is different, which is why I don’t believe in giving everyone the same list of places to visit.
A family traveling with children may be looking for something completely different from a group of friends. Some guests want a beautiful walk. Others are looking for a winery, a traditional restaurant, a local food producer, or a particular shop.
Some want to spend the entire day exploring the countryside.
Others ask me:
“Where can we go that isn’t full of tourists?”
And sometimes my answer might simply be:
“I would stay here today.”
Because when you have a villa with a private pool in Tuscany, a large garden, and open views across the countryside, one of the pleasures of renting a villa is knowing that you don’t have to go anywhere at all.
That is the idea behind Valerio’s Tips.
It is not a standard tourist guide or a list copied from the internet. It is local knowledge based on firsthand experience and adapted to what each group genuinely wants from their vacation.
Local Knowledge Can Also Help You Choose the Right Experiences
Knowing the area and the people who live and work here is useful for more than deciding where to go.
Many guests choose to spend part of their vacation enjoying experiences directly at the villa.
I can help guests find and arrange private chefs in Tuscany, pizza evenings with a pizzaiolo, private cooking classes, wine experiences, massages, yoga, and other activities available at Villa Le Ginepraie or nearby.
But the point is not simply to offer a long list of services.
The difference is being able to talk to someone who knows the villa, knows the area, and knows the people providing many of these experiences — and who can therefore help you choose something that suits your group.
Molly, who stayed with us for two weeks, described this part of her vacation:
“Valerio was an exceptional host — warm, attentive, and always available when we needed him. His recommendations, including incredible private chefs, made our experience even more special.”
— Molly, verified VRBO guest, July 2026 — 10/10
Hosting Is About More Than Handing Over the Keys
For me, hosting does not end when guests arrive and I hand over the keys.
At the same time, being a good host does not mean being constantly present.
I want guests to feel that Villa Le Ginepraie is their own home in Tuscany during their stay. They should be able to spend the day by the pool, explore the countryside, go out for dinner, or simply relax at the villa without feeling that the owner is part of their vacation.
But if they need something, or simply want to ask:
“Valerio, what would you recommend?”
they know who to contact.
That balance between independence, privacy, and personal assistance is an important part of the way I welcome guests to Villa Le Ginepraie.

Your Private Villa. Your Vacation. Someone to Turn to When You Need It.
Choosing a villa in Tuscany with a private pool is above all about freedom.
It means waking up without a schedule, spending an afternoon beside the pool, discovering Volterra, San Gimignano and the Tuscan countryside, cooking together, or having someone cook for you.
It means having a home rather than a hotel room.
At Villa Le Ginepraie, I want to add one simple thing to that freedom: the reassurance of knowing that there is someone nearby who knows the villa, knows the area, and is available when you need him.
Sometimes that means helping solve a practical problem. Sometimes it means finding the right person to contact.
And sometimes it simply means answering one question:
“Valerio, where would you go today?”
