In the 1600s this room, which is on the ground floor of the Villa in Volterra with pool, housed the calves. It is very spacious, is connected from the inside to the Solar Flower Suite, but has an autonomous entrance from the ancient Loggia and an independent bathroom. That’s why it’s perfect for anyone in your group who values maximum independence, or it can be ideal if, during your stay, you wish to host temporary guests or people you’re less familiar with.

Why the Pinecone of Plenty

Since ancient times, the pine cone has represented eternity and immortality, because the pine tree, whose fruit it is, is an evergreen tree. Moreover, because it encloses a myriad of seeds, it recalls fertility and prosperity. But its shape is also reminiscent of what philosopher René Descartes called the pineal gland (now identified with the pituitary gland) and considered the point of union between thought and matter.
