Just a short walk from our Villa in Tuscany, nestled within the picturesque Bosco di Pignano, lies a hidden natural wonder: a small waterfall that, during the winter and spring months, creates a fairy-tale atmosphere with the gentle sound of water flowing over the rocks.
Even when it dries up during the warmer months, the surrounding landscape retains all its charm, making this walk an experience not to be missed.
The Route
Starting from the Villa, a scenic 30-minute walk leads you along a trail steeped in history and blessed with breathtaking views.
You’ll first pass two serene ponds, then continue uphill along a path that skirts ancient farms — once part of the historic Pignano estate. On your right, across a field, you’ll spot the pony corral, a delightful and authentic touch in this timeless countryside.
As the trail descends into the forest, you’ll step into the heart of nature. The path winds through towering old trees and brings you to a crossroads. Taking the path to the right, you’ll soon encounter a large monolith — a silent witness to distant times. Just a little farther on, you’ll arrive in a truly magical setting, where the Cascatella di Pignano waterfall adds an enchanting touch to the landscape.
An Experience Not to Be Missed
This excursion is ideal for those seeking the authentic soul of Tuscany, far from the usual tourist trails. Whether you’re drawn by the soothing sound of water or simply the peaceful embrace of nature, the walk to the Cascatella di Pignano promises moments of pure harmony, discovery, and connection with the land.
